  • We welcome applications from international students for our Foundation Degree in Professional Golf Studies course.

  • For the Foundation Degree course, you will need a WHS certificate and a handicap of not greater than 6.4 if you are male or 8.4 if you are female. Full details of playing requirements will be provided on application.

  • Our academic entry criteria is 4 GCSE “O” levels at grades A-C or 4-9 (or your countries equivalent). Two of these must be in English and Mathematics.

  • If English is not your first language, you must complete and pass an academic IELTS test, with an overall score of 6 or better.

  • Yes, as a remote-learning course, our students study part-time alongside their golf industry position.

    You will need to come to the UK for a yearly residential programme, based at The Belfry, as well as to sit any examinations or compete in tournaments.

  • For those starting the FdSc programme in 2025, the tuition fee will be £6,750* for international students.

    *Fees are subject to inflationary increase in subsequent years in line with UK government policy.

    Students based in the Republic of Ireland pay £4,750 per year, under the Common Travel Area arrangement.

  • In addition to the course fees, overseas Trainees must pay the annual PGA Membership fee, currently £238.

    Travel expenses when attending face-to-face residential courses, exams, coaching courses, tournament entry fees and associated travel expenses must be met by the individual.

  • If you are an international student (and English is not your first language), it will be necessary for you to demonstrate proficiency in the English Language. This will allow you to study with more confidence as the course requires a high academic input from you.

    You are required to sit and pass the IELTS exam prior to your application onto the Training Programme being progressed to the Conditional Offer stage. You may send in your completed application form plus any other documents requested, but passing the IELTS will constitute one of the Conditions in your offer letter.

    There will be a charge for the exam, and they are held at various times throughout the year in most countries.

  • The FdSc course is completed over 3 years on a part-time basis.

    A Foundation Degree equates to the first two years of an Honours Degree. Following the completion of the FdSc there is an option to continue with academic study and convert the qualification to BSc (Hons) in Professional Golf Studies.

  • The FdSc course is delivered part-time, as trainees will undertake their studies alongside a role working at a golf facility under a PGA Training Professional.

    You should expect to commit at least 10 hours per week to attending online lectures and completing assignments.

  • Yes, there are several open days throughout the year taking place both online and face-to-face.
